Q |
I am
interested in outsourcing - how do we get started once we
have signed a contract?
|
|
A |
If you are
outsourcing new sales only - all you have to do is decide on
a cut off date and send the following information for any
new products or services provided after the start date:
· Patient demographics
· Signed Delivery ticket (DME suppliers) Super bill
(Physicians)
· Any other information obtained at the time of service |
|
Q |
What
do I have to do if I want to outsource my current A/R as
well as new billings?
|
|
A |
We may be able
to convert your A/R electronically. We will do everything
possible to ensure that you do not have to spend too much
time preparing the transfer of the A/R. The information
required to transfer the A/R is different for each customer,
we will work with you and customize the transfer of the
data.

Q |
What
is it that HMS does that is different than my in house
billing department?
Why do you think you can be more successful at collecting my
A/R?
|
|
A |
HMS's staff is
focused on billing and collections. The two advantages we
have over an in-house billing department is our focus and
our system. In our analysis of many companies with problem
A/R we have found that most companies have trouble retaining
good people who are qualified to follow up on denied claims.
Our staff is trained and qualified to follow up on denied
claims and our system is designed to give them reports based
on denial codes to maximize their efficiency. We have also
automated tasks such as collection letters to insurance
companies as well as information requests for denied claims.
All we do at HMS is billing and collections. At every level
our staff are focused on constantly finding new ways to go
after the insurance companies to maximize our effectiveness
and collections.

Q |
Where does the money go once we sign on with HMS?
|
|
A |
You still
collect the money and send us copies of the checks and
corresponding explanation of medical benefits.
|
|
Q |
Would I lose control if I outsource my billing?
|
|
A |
No, you would
not lose control. Our service is designed to provide you
with detailed billing, A/R reports and analysis to ensure
that you have more information on where your outstanding
money is than your current system provides. We are also
working on providing our customers with live and secure
web-based access to their data on our system.
